Simple Minded, a Scottish Simple Minds tribute band, was born this year. The brainchild from the singer and bass player.
The rest of the musicians hand picked personally as the best men for doing the job. The keyboard player has a vast live experience and amazing talent, previous work includes performing with Mel Gaynor himself and some of the best jazz musicians in the UK. The drummer, hard hitting as well as natural groove, has played and recorded with many bands on the Scottish scene. The guitarist brings his experience from forming and playing in the tribute band Sample Minds for 10 years, as well as a good knowledge of all things Simple Minds.
We are very upbeat about this project and rehearsals are going fantastically well. This will be as close to the Simple Minds "live" experience as you can get. Our aim is to get the sound and performance that Simple Minds produced during the New Gold Dream and Tour du Monde tours.
With the wealth of live experience, backing and knowledge of Simple Minds we aim to be the best Simple Minds tribute band out there!
We are currently in negotiations with venues for upcoming gigs. Once confirmed they'll be published here.
